START-UP OPPORTUNITIES


Research conducted by Johns Hopkins is often at too early a stage to be taken up directly by companies. The Johns Hopkins Technology Transfer (JHTT) evaluates all of the innovations of JHU researchers, and when a promising technology is discovered, the JHTT will guide and support the formation of a start-up company.

Part of the mission of the Johns Hopkins Technology Transfer (JHTT) is to help the University’s promising technologies develop into viable products for the betterment of society. Successful product development is function of three important components: technology, people, and funding. The JHTT helps to foster Johns Hopkins research technologies by infusing the right business people and capital at the crucial stages of development (fig. 1).
